    Course Title:Art and Architectural Appreciation
    Course Objective:The objectives of this course are to: •introduce students to recognise form, texture, structure, space and colour as related to works of art and architecture; and •provide students with opportunities to develop basic aesthetic analytical skills. •provide graphic standards for students’ drawing ability in order to achieve outstanding aesthetics.
    Course Synopsis:This course is designed to increase the students’ capacity to visualise and communicate in several graphic media and also to recognise form, texture, structure, space and colour as related to works of art. As a practical course, the focus is to impart basic skills on the students in order to enhance their visual literacy level and prepare them to appreciate the aesthetic components of art and architecture. Basic understanding of the principles of Art, graphics and design in architecture will be addressed. Topics to be covered include meaning, context, and significance of the elements and outcomes of designs in graphics, textiles, ceramics, sculpture, painting and printing as related to architecture.
